You can be in control of your asthma?

Jacob I. Blazzard, PA-C

Jacob Blazzard, Physician Assistant, Certified Asthma Educator

Why should my child see a certified asthma educator?

A certified asthma educator is an expert in teaching, educating and counseling individuals with asthma and their families awareness and skills necessary to minimize impact and maximize quality of life. Asthma is a chronic disease that can be managed with the help of an expert.

Your child can still enjoy life with asthma

Asthma is a chronic disease that can negatively impact quality of life – but that doesn’t have to be the case. With the help of a Certified Asthma Educator, your child can manage asthma and enjoy many activities. Jake Blazzard, Certified Asthma Educator, will take the time necessary to review medications, explain why it is used and how it maintains control. He will help develop an asthma action plan for your child and the family and to take to school or daycare. Peak Flows are performed so you, as the parent, understand your child’s status and action needed.

Jake focuses on:

  • Development of an asthma action plan
  • Diagnosis and management of asthma
  • Peak Flows
  • Services and programming for asthma

Children with asthma should be seen four times a year by an asthma educator. Jake’s appointments are 45 minutes to allow time to discuss the action plan, medications, lifestyle management and administration of peak flows.
